Build Your Library Ladder Kit
Customize your ladder to fit your unique space with our versatile kit options.
Follow these steps to create a ladder that enhances your home's functionality and design:
Step 1: Determine Library Ladder Height
Measure from the floor to the track installation point. Ensure a 7" clearance above the track's centerline to avoid contact with the ceiling or crown molding. Refer to the approximate ladder height and distance measurements for the climbing position.
Optional Add-On: Clear non-skid step treads for each ladder step.
8 Foot Ladder
Ladder Distance From Wall: 25"
Ladder Height: 92.5"
7 Ladder Rung Supports Required
9 Foot Ladder
Ladder Distance From Wall: 27"
Ladder Height: 102"
8 Ladder Rung Supports Required
10 Foot Ladder
Ladder Distance From Wall: 29"
Ladder Height: 114"
9 Ladder Rung Supports Required
Ladder Rung Supports
Ladder Rung Supports are required for each step of the ladder. 7 Included in Hardware Kits.
Step 2: Choose Hardware & Finish
Select between a stationary, non-rolling or a rolling ladder.
2A: Stationary Hardware
For a non-rolling ladder, choose the Non-Skid Foot Assembly and either a Single Hook or Double Hook.
Non-Skid Foot Assembly
Single Hook
One climbing position; ladder can be removed from rail.
Double Hook
Allows for two ladder positions: top hook for use and bottom hook for stowing away; ladder can be removed from rail.
2B Part 1: Rolling Wheel Hardware
Choose from Sunburst or Contemporary options, each with an optional weight-enabled brake feature for added stability.

✔ Single Rail
✔ Straight Rail
✖ Curved Rail
✖ Multiple Rails
Swivel Roller
Allows for both climbing and stow-away positions; ladder cannot be removed from rail.

Step 3: Track and Mounting
Part 1: Calculate Total Railing
Determine whether a single continuous rail or multiple separate rails are needed throughout the room. Include curved corners if required. Longer single rails can be created by joining multiple rails with splice kits.
Part 2: Bracket Hardware
When selecting brackets, consider their clearance requirements and the type of roller or hook you plan to use. The ladder will rest 3” above the center of the track, and the choice of bracket will affect the amount of wall space required. This is especially important in tight spaces, such as between kitchen cupboards. Note that one bracket is required for every 32" of straight railing, and each curved railing requires 2 brackets.
Horizontal Hook Bracket
For Rolling Hooks, Single Hooks and Double Hooks
Height: 11/16"
Vertical Hook Bracket
For Rolling Hooks, Single Hooks and Double Hooks
Height: 2 3/4"
Horizontal Rail Bracket
For Standard Rollers and Swivel Rollers
Height: 15/16"
Vertical Rail Bracket
For Standard Rollers and Swivel Rollers
Height: 2 5/8"
Part 3: End Stop Kit
Choose between the standard disc end cap or the decorative ball end cap. Only one set is needed per rail grouping, as it includes both end caps. A tap tool is required for installation.
