Wine Wednesday: Building Retail Wine Racks for Lake Geneva Country Meats

At WineRacks.com, we pride ourselves on designing and building quality wine racks that our clients will be proud to display for a lifetime. One advantage of taking such pride in our work is that we often see repeat customers who we get to know as more than just a client. A great example of that is Lake Geneva Country Meats.

Nick from Lake Geneva Country Meat initially contacted us over a year ago looking for some wine racks for his store. He worked with our associate Shannon to determine what would work best in his space and settled on our double tier island merchandisers in oak. He let us know he loved the racks and we were proud to have been able to help him rack his space.

A year later, Nick returned with a need for more wine racks. As he loved the double tier islands in oak, he decided to buy more along with two of our two column bin displays. We built them for him in house, as we do all our wood wine racks, and got them out to him just in time for Thanksgiving.

Nick then sent us the following, glowing testimonial:

“We received our racks last Friday and I got them installed Sunday for the Thanksgiving rush. I’m very grateful we were able to get them out in time, they really helped our sales. I’ve attached a picture of the layout. We don’t have all of the signage up, and we’re going to put a Christmas Tree in the middle of the racks, but you get the general picture! It really is a good layout and our customers frequently comment on how nice the racks are and wonder where we get them. I hope you have gotten some gift referrals from them!”

Nick also showed us a fantastic picture of our two column bin displays being used to hold dry goods instead of wine. It is always fun to see the alternate uses that exist for wine racks!

Shortly after this, Nick had a need for one more rack. This one had to be custom though which is no problem for us here at WineRacks.com as all of our wood wine racks are expertly manufactured right here in the United States of America. As a result, we can follow your racking from the design stage to milling which makes custom designs possible. We worked with Nick to create a custom size double tier island merchandiser that would fit the style of the ones Lake Geneva Country Meat already had but that would also fit into a particular space in the store.

We designed one at the width Nick required and he loved it.

I just wanted to let you know we have the custom rack assembled, in place and it’s perfect, thank you very much for getting that together for us. It was just in time for Christmas.

It is great to see your wine racks in such a beautiful finished space and to form such a fantastic partnership along the way.

Remember, if you like what you see but are unsure of what will work in your space then you can always request a custom design.

Wine Wednesday: What WineRacks.com’s Cellar Design Process and White Glove Delivery Service Looks Like

We at WineRacks.com pride ourselves on our quality crafted, American made wine racks as well as our customer service so it always means a lot to us when we hear back from a satisfied customer.

Mr. Greier of Hopewell Junction, NY submitted an wine cellar questionnaire through our website. He needed guidance on how to layout his space and our designer Asia Armstrong was quick to assist him from start to finish. Asia worked closely with him to best determine what would fit his needs and his space before coming up with the final design.

Once he was satisfied with his design, Mr. Greier also opted for our white glove install. This is a tiered service that we happily offer to our customers here at WineRacks.com. Our white glove service caters to each individual’s needs and ranges from curb side delivery to a full install. Mr. Greier decided to go with a full install and had the following to say after the entire experience:

Dear Rob, Asia & team at Wineracks.com,

My wife and I couldn’t be happier with the white glove service & treatment we received from everyone at Wineracks.com during the entire process of our home wine cellar installation. The initial design process was very interactive and helpful, as Asia was very attentive to our needs. She offered excellent suggestions to add design features that we weren’t aware of, always working with our budget. Rob added his more than qualified suggestions & added personal attention that we did not receive at any other company. He sent out wood samples and detailed the white glove installation service, which made our decision to work with Wineracks.com a no brainer. All in all, Wineracks.com exceeded our expectations at all times, and we are extremely happy with the finished product. We would recommend them to anyone considering a residential or personal cellar. We will have many years of joy & fine wine to come from the new Greier Wine Cellar, established April 2012, designed & installed by Wineracks.com!

As you can see, a small space doesn’t mean you have to skimp on your dream cellar. We here at WineRacks.com are more than happy to work on any space whether it be a closet converted into a cellar or a massive wine store.

Remember, if you like what you see but are unsure of what will work in your space then you can always request a custom design.

Wine Wednesday: A View Into WineRacks.com’s Wine Cellar Design Process

As you might be aware, we offer free custom design consultations for our customers. Unlike many of our competitors, we provide this consultation free of charge no matter how small or large the space. Another thing that sets WineRacks.com apart is the fact that your Cellar Consultant IS your Cellar Designer as well.

As a result, you can be sure there is no miscommunication in the design process as you are speaking directly with the individual who will take you from consultation to finished design. Our designers will make sure that we completely understand what you want to achieve in your wine cellar and how to best achieve that. To do so, we will account for any challenges and limitations that your space may present.

All of this leads to a design that will meet your needs and that is quickly turned around to you. Typically, one of our designers will return a design to you within 24 – 72 hours.

As always, we offer these consultations free of charge, no matter how small or large the space you’re looking to rack is. We will also gladly custom design wine racks if the need arises.

We recently worked with a gentleman in Texas who was converting an old pantry in his house into a wine cellar. He submitted a questionnaire through our site that outlined his ideas so we had an idea of what he wanted. Based on his questionnaire, we knew he wanted modular racking and diamond bins. However, he needed racks at a smaller width than the standard ones we offer on our site due to his space limitations. He also wanted a wood that would match the preexisting cabinet he had in the space.

We worked with him to determine what would not only best fit in his space but what would give him the aesthetic that he was looking for. We decided on our premium modular racking in mahogany for the sides of the space, modified diamond bins in the center and a stemware rack beneath the bins to give it that finishing touch.

We also added a 3/4″ furniture grade veneer plywood back to the diamond bins to complete the look that he was hoping to achieve. The customer decided he would apply a finish to the racks on site so that their color would best match the cabinet these racks would rest upon.

After a short consultation and a quick revision, we provided the client with the SketchUp below.

The client loved the design and quickly signed off on our cellar agreement. From there, we started production on his racks right here in our facility in New York.

The end result is what you see below. The customer was kind enough to send us pictures of the finished racks in their new space as well as a glowing review of his experience with us at WineRacks.com. As you can see, our decay and moisture resistant mahogany wood took to the stain beautifully.

The installation went smoothly and I think the racks came out looking great.

Thanks for your help,

Thanks Clint! It is always fantastic to see our racks in their new space and to hear that a customer enjoyed their experience with us at WineRacks.com
